- You. I am Haley Fisher and I’m a public relations major. My talents consist of branding, marketing, and shopping! So far, I’ve had three public relations internships that taught me a lot about social media and marketing.
- What are you offering to customers? I’m offering customers an app that would increase their business sales. The app would allow retail/big box stores to post pictures of their inventory on an app that will allow shoppers to easily pick up the item or have it shipped to their home. With this new app retail/big box stores will be able to compete with major retailers online such as Amazon.
- Who are you offering it to? I’m offering my app to anyone who owns a retail/big box store and the customers of those stores. My customers are all either competing with online retailers such as Amazon or use Amazon more than shopping in retail/ big box stores due to the convenience factor.
- Why do they care? Customers will pay money to use my product because it will benefit them in the long run and bring them in more sales. With my app retailers and big box stores will be able to compete with Amazon because they will be providing the same convince factor. This app will drive in more sale for these stores.
- What are your core competencies? Nobody has an app that has every retail/big box store in your area that will provide the customer with everything they need conveniently. My app will be able to compete with Amazon and drive up sales for retail/big box stores.
I think these five elements make my app stand out greatly. It explains my reasons for creating an app like this and why retail/big box stores desperately need this. With my skills in branding, marketing, and most importantly shopping I’m positive this app can be a huge success!
Haley,
ReplyDeleteI think you have a good idea, although it does remind me of Sam’s club website. From my experience with Sam’s club I realized that shopping in-store is much easier than on web, because not always the “available in-store” inventory matches the actual in-store inventory. And notifications aren’t sent on-time. I hope your app will have a better sync with the store inventory. I would also suggest a 3D view of the items to be available. I personally relate to realistic visual information more than flat 2D
Haley,
ReplyDeleteI love how you said that shopping is a talent of yours. I think that it's so important to be a good shopper when in a position of marketing/PR. One of the most crucial aspects is putting yourself in the shoes of the customer. This is a great idea and i bet a lot of people would prefer it to online shopping on the individual store's websites.
Haley,
ReplyDeleteI actually see the dimension behind your idea. I know that many others might say "you can online shop on their website", however it is not always that convenient via mobile. I hope your app will have a pick up feature for any local stores, it would definitely be cool. I am a shopaholic as well and there will be a lot of times where I need a specific outfit and it is so difficult to find it because I need to browse around multiple stores. Plus, since you are in marketing, I am sure you will find a way to be creative with the process!
