My Entrepreneurship Story

In Gainesville, Florida, I had the opportunity to intern for The Repurpose Project. The Repurpose Project is a non-profit community based effort to divert useful resources from the landfill, redirect these items to the public for at and education, inspire creativity and help us all rethink what we throw away. My boss, Mike Myers, is an entrepreneur. He gave me insight on how many risks one has to take as an entrepreneur. He also told me that in order to be successful you have to put your heart and soul into whatever you are doing.
I enrolled in ENT 3003 because after my internship I was fascinated with entrepreneurship and wanted to learn more about it. I’m excited for this semester and hope to learn a lot!

  1. I love that "to be successful you have to put your heart and soul" into it! That is so true in all aspects of life, and if you follow that motto this class will be a breeze. Keep up the good work!

  2. Hi Haley thank you for sharing! I really enjoyed reading about your experience. Mike Myers seems like a very inspiring person to meet. The Repurpose Project has such a profoundly good objective and I imagine that it was a really great learning experience to be able to intern with someone who has such passion for their cause. I'm sure just being around him was a great way to gain entrepreneurship skills and insight!

  3. Hey Haley! The Repurpose Project sounds awesome! For a class assignment in one of my classes we have to talk about finding other ways to reuse food waste. I have to look into this foundation because it looks great. Must have been awesome to be with Myers to gain knowledge. I agree that an entrepreneur has to take risks.
